Overview

Live Visualizer is the ultimate module to add, update, delete, and display content on your DNN or Evoq site. It’s a fully functional structured content solution with support for content modeling, library, and publishing.

A central content library allows content to be managed from a single location and published across multiple pages and channels – Create Once Publish Everywhere (COPE)

Upcoming RESTful API will allow DNN & Evoq sites to be leveraged as a Headless CMS using Live Visualizer.

In addition to your own content modeling, it supports external data sources such as Live Forms, and SQL Query. It’s a breeze to display your Live Forms submissions or your custom content via a SQL Query on any page and in any layout with totally customizable templates.

Visual form builder that is a drag and drop easy, feature rich, multi-column, multi-page, multi-language, workflow & moderation, 25+ fields, and has conditional logical actions and branching.

It’s also extensible so it’s easy to integrate with services such as Salesforce, PayPal, Stripe, BrainTree, Authorize.Net, Zoho Helpdesk, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, and Campaign Monitor.

Granular Permission

Data safety is paramount, and content is protected from inception; rather than an afterthought. Granular permissions are granted at content level and enforced across every channel.

Admin can define the roles that can view, add, update, delete, moderate, and export content. Similarly, the ability to modify content structure can be granted to specific roles as well.

If you’re building a user app such as classifieds, then you may override content permissions and allow only the owner to update or delete content.

Relationships

Live Visualizer

Add an existing structure as a single or multiple reference. For example, you may have a Tag or Comment structure that is shared and allows categorization of different entities such as recipes or articles.

Live Visualizer automatically manages the references. No coding required. Admin has the ability to the hand pick necessary individual fields to optimize performance.

It's easy to combine multiple conditions and match any or all conditions. Live Visualizer also supports multiple groups of conditions.

Central Content Library

Manage all your content from a central location. View, add, update, delete, sort, manage, and filter content in any way you like.

SEARCH, VIEW, SORT, & FILTER CONTENT

Slice and dice your content based on your business needs. Quickly search for a content item using keywords or view all content of a specific structure such as all FAQs or Employees. Additional filters include workflow status, date range, and the author of content. Content can be sorted by date as well (newest or oldest)

Add & Update Content

Quickly add new content by typing in few letters of the content type such as employee. An autocomplete interface makes it easy to manage millions of items of content. Updating content is even easier with search and filtering options.

Content SEO

Every content item has its own SEO properties such as a URL, Meta Title, Keywords, and Description. Automatic URL history management and 301 redirection ensures that your SEO strategy is always prioritized.

Designated Content Manager Role

A dedicated content manager role assures everyone has access to the content library; however, content permissions are enforced at content level and content managers can only access data they have access to.

Audit Log

Audit Log

Audit Log meticulously tracks every create, update, and delete action for each submission or record, ensuring complete transparency and accountability. Additionally, it logs any changes or updates to the underlying structures, providing a holistic view of all modifications. Whether you’re managing sensitive information or complex workflows, Audit Log empowers you with detailed insights and robust control over your data, enhancing your compliance and security measures with unparalleled precision. Experience peace of mind knowing that every action is documented, auditable, and easily retrievable.

Visualizer

It’s easy to publish your content on your DNN or Evoq sites using visualizers. A visualizer allows you to display your content in any shape or form. As an admin, you have full control over the final markup using your own C# Razor Templates, Scripts, and Stylesheets.

It’s super easy to get started with auto generated templates including a List, Card, and Table view.

Templates

Auto Generate Templates

Automatically generates the item, detail, and pagination templates for either a list, card, or table view. Not a single line of code or technical jargon is required to create beautiful layouts.

For technically inclined, possibilities are endless with full control of the final rendered markup including the HTML, JS, & CSS.

Code Edition w/Intelligent Code Completion

A live code editor makes it super easy for developer to modify or create their own templates on the fly. Code editing is efficient with automated support for C# language, formatting, and intelligent code completion. Keyboard hotkeys automatically hints with available model, its properties, and instance specific settings.

Scripts

Customize your templates by writing your own inline JS Scripts or linking to one or multiple existing JS files.

Stylesheets

Customize your templates by writing your own inline styles or linking to one or multiple existing Stylesheets.

Instance Settings

Visualizers are designed to be reused across your entire site. For example, you have a “Our Team” and “Management” page; both pages are showing the employees of the company. Content Filtering allows us to use a single Visualizer on both pages and show different content. “Our Team” can be configured to show employees across certain departments only and “Management” can only list key executives of the company.

But what if you want both instances of the same visualizer to display content slightly different. Let’s say you’re displaying content in tabs and one page calls for Horizontal Tabs and the other one needs Vertical Tabs. Often, this is a simple change in the markup and doesn’t warrant creating a new visualizer.

Instance Settings allows to create instance specific settings that are persisted for each instance; even though the same visualizer is used across multiple pages. Settings can be created using the Form Builder in the same manner as the Content Structures. They’re available to use in templates using the intelligent code completion.

In Place Editing

In place or context editing works with Granular Permissions and automatically allows the current user to add, update, or delete content if the user has the appropriate permissions. This out of the box functionality is built right into auto generated templates.

In context editing allows a content manager to add, update, or delete content right from the frontend; right on the page visualizer that’s visible to world wide web. This contrasts with the Central Library where a content manager may add, update, or delete content affecting one or many pages across its DNN or Evoq sites; even impacting multiple devices including mobile apps, voice enabled, or other iOT devices.

Live Visualizer supports both in context and central content editing.

Content Search & Filtering

Client side search & filtering is a breeze with Live Visualizer. Simply enable the search option and select the searchable fields. Use query parameters to filter data.

Live Visualizer really shines in its ability to slice and dice the content in many ways to meet your business needs. A visual condition builder with match all or any conditions makes it super easy to Sort & Filter your content across any of its model properties without writing a single line of code.

Want to publish your entire catalog of recipes? No problem. Live Visualizer will automatically paginate.

Only want to show the latest 5 recipes? Of Chinese cuisine? With servings over 4 people? Only those added by employee “Sarah”? Only those added during the last 3 days? Only those waiting for approval? No problem.

Perhaps you want to hand pick few recipes to feature for a special occasion. No problem. Maybe you’re doing a 3 course dinner and must show the appetizer first followed by main entrée and then the dessert. Drag and drop sorting allows you to present your hand-picked content in the exact order you want.

Live Forms

Do you need to display content collected via Live Forms? It’s super easy to create a new visualizer and use an instance of Live Forms as its data source. Auto generate templates or write them from scratch to present your Live Forms submissions in any way you like.

SQL Query

Do you need to display content from your custom database, tables, views, or stored procedure? It’s super easy to create a new visualizer and use a SQL Query as its data source. Auto generate templates or write them from scratch to present your custom content in any way you like.

Use the form builder to collect input from user and pass it to your parameterized query; effectively creating a report builder. Support for paginated queries and caching ensures that large data is handled efficiently

Introducing Low Code - Ability to write custom code for 100% custom business logic. Use events to modify data/model at time of insertion and updates as well as at different lifecycle stages of content rendering. See Documentation for details.

Import / Export

Visualizers can be exported to be easily shared across your DNN or Evoq sites or with the community. An exported package contains everything to replicate the visualizer, its templates, settings, scripts, stylesheets, and even the associated content structure. Actual content items are never exported in spirit of content privacy and confidentiality.
