What great service!  Haven't gotten a chance to actually use it yet as I installed it a year after I bought it. But the developer of this product fixed the activation dates etc. for me instantly. Replied to my emails within an hour or so on a Saturday!!!

Evotiva is the best backup tool for DNN ever. Even in excellent hosting locations, it's always a great idea to have an independent 3rd party location backup. I use Evotiva backup to weekly send a zip of the database and folder structure to an AWS or FTP location for safe keeping. Evotiva helps power my backup strategy and lets me sleep at night!

I've been working with DNN since version 3.x so I've seen a ton of module developers come and go.  Evotiva is one of a handful of DNN Developers I've been a loyal user of every version of this module and I can assure anyone who is reading this that you will be very happy with the quality of this software and the promptness of responses to inquiries and licensing requests.  I don't hand out a lot of 5-star reviews, but if I could give this module 6-stars I would do it!

It says that I'm reviewing version 7.3.0. I've actually had the opportunity to try out version 7.8.1 before its official release. I have had nothing but good experiences working with this software and it has saved me on numerous occasions. DNN is great software but sometime things go wrong during upgrades of extensions or DNN versions, so it is absolutely essential to have a reliable backup and restore strategy like Evotiva DNNBackup provides.

A must have complete backup and restore tool. The process needs little input to complete and gives detailed logs files for any errors. The support is very helpful with errors and questions.

I'm now running version 7.6.1 of this software and its great. Can't say enough about it or the program's author. If ever I have a problem, a solution comes quickly that makes everything right. If only all software was so well written and supported.

5 stars for reliability AND delivering exactly what is promised AND quick and very personal support responses when support is needed (rarely for us - typically only when upgrading - been using this product for over 4 years) *NOTE: currently using version 7.05.00 and my 5 stars apply to every version I've used

I fully recommend that EVERY DNN admin have this product installed!  It is priceless when anything goes wrong - you can have the site restored from a backup in literally under an hour - I've had to do it a few too many times!  

For developing or testing - again, priceless - making an exact copy to work from is so painless I wonder how anyone does it without this product.

Hands down, I will not let any DNN install I administer run without DNNBackup installed and running as well.

If ever there was an essential (must have) module for a DNN website, it is DNNBackup. The UI takes some getting used to, but otherwise it is a great module. It simply works!

An essential tool for anyone with a DNN website. The software is easy to use and works great. Especially helpful for situations where your web host restricts your access to the SQL server (i.e. no direct backups or restores). Makes it really easy to develop a website on one server and then deploy to another. Any issues with or questions about the software have been quickly and satisfactorily resolved by the software's author.

let me explain why these products from this vendor are so highly reviewed.

I purchase back up on Friday night. I'm a software developer myself, so I'm pretty technical. Saturday I set up the module and started runninng it.

I had several strange errors. After racking my brain for a while I sent an email to their support.

I had a response basically the same day, that was extremely detailed and thorough including screenshots about several issues with my site. Some of those issues weren't even related to the tool. But the person helping me found them and found that they were impacting the backup utility.

After following the instructions in the email,  the tool performed flawlessly.  I should mention that the errors received had nothing to do with the tool itself. But with configuration and permissions issues on my site. I tend to run things pretty locked down, and that can cause issues with permissions from time to time, such as this.

I could have written something myself to perform the backup job but it wouldn't have been as tightly integrated into the platform as this tool is. And it would have taken me much longer than it did to configure this tool, even with the minor issues I had.

As I told the support team, I was initially very frustrated with the tool because I couldn't get it to work on my own. After dealing with their support, I did a 180 degree turn around, and now will look for their products first anytime I'm looking for a new module to purchase. I went from frustrated, to extremely satisfied customer. And that is very hard to do, so it's very impressive.

Don't hesitate at all to buy their products. I did. But they won me over in the end.

DNNBackup does just what it needs to - quietly and reliably. We consider this a "must" have for any professional website (esp. when you want to have an offsite backup of your website saved to your local machine).

This module should be in every DNN managers toolkit. When I ran into questions while restoring a site, the customer support was superb and very responsive. I strongly recommend Enterprise Edition if you manage more than one site - very useful.

This is a "must have" module for all serious websites. It gives you great control over how and when your backup occur. The email status report (with optional links to the backups) are great. And the ability to copy the backup to another site off the computer is perfect for true off-site backups - even for hosted installations.

DNN Backup and DNN Upgrade working together are a great product combination. Transitioning to DNN 7.2 required me to switch hosting servers, update tables, etc. These products made the transition much smoother. And, as many have noted, Horacio goes well beyond what you may ordinarily expect from support help. Well worth the money.

These guys were SO helpful when I had some issues using this module (which were not actually caused by the module but the hosting settings).  They hung in there with me until I got things working  even though it was not their problem and assisted far above and beyond the call of duty.

Great product, simple to use, got me out of a scrape when a previous host disappeared leaving me on an unsupported server with no access, installed a copy and took a back up that I then used to migrate onto a new host. Used it ever since on various DNN sites. Fab!!!

We never install a DNN instance without evotiva in place. Used as a fail-safe 3rd party cloud backup, and for restore/moving DNN instances, it's a MUST HAVE for your DNN developer toolbox

I stressed my DNN 5.x installation a bit too much and somehow we lost all of the sub-tabs of a client's portal. I wrote to Evotiva explaining what happened and asked several technical questions which they answered the next later that evening (was up all night re-creating pages). With the barn door open, I installed the mod - EXTREMELY easy - and did several test runs in my DEV install and once satisfied, loaded it to the site. First thing did was to run the backup. The Perpetual license can a few hours after that and now I am "covered" and can close the barn door.
I would suggest this solution to anyone  who is responsible for client data or is developing in the DNN environment.
Well worth the cost for a single license.

Don't always trust your host to have the backups you need, quite inexpensive to have Amazon S3 and Evotiva making a backup for you to keep and forget about (till you need it!) When we're rolling out a new DNN site, this is one of our MUST HAVES. It's always in our DNN Toolbox!

I was in the middle of moving my DNN Site from my Server (Hosted at my house) to a Virtual Machine hosted on GoDaddy ($39.00 a month). I already had a full back-up of my database and was going to give it a try manually when magically I get an email from the DotNetNuke Store advertising DNNBackUp 6.4.2. I do some research, I read all the documentation(Very Good by the way) and pulled the trigger. Worked as advertised. Just follow the instructions and your good to go. TOTALLY worth it. Now I can schedule backups on and off site. Also, you know that feeling you get when you update to the latest Rev of DNN? Thinking "I hope this does not break any of my created modules" Well now.. I just back-up the running config and go for it. If it breaks.. do a restore and your good. Best Module I've bought to date. I've been with DNN for years. Thank You Very much.. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your immediate response. Your product is incredible. I know very little about sql and I did figure out how to restore my site which the server was stolen. I am amazed I was able to do this  so easily with your product.

Installation is easy, and I love the ability to migrate a site to a new host. This has saved me HOURS of work and blown up DNN sites. When migrating to a new host, it even knows to change the portal alias so I don't have to spoof my IP address. Very nice program that just works.

The technical support is really good.  This is an extremely powerful program.  I have been able to automate backups so they go to my DropBox account.  I was able to restore the my site to my localHost server and it works flawlessly.    I have since upgraded to newer versions.     Great program!

Have been using this product for several years.  It's saved my bacon several times.  The ability to clone on a local machine is a great way to modify or upgrade your site before you go live - saving to an Cloud account is a life saver as well.  Tech support?-- there when you need them.  Highly recommended.

Fantastic software. Did exactly what I wanted which was to clone a live site on a local host both as a backup and as a test ground. I am very pleased with the final results. The instructions provided were useful for setting up the module and making backups and restore. However I wish there were more detailed step by step instructions on setup of websites in IIS (as website rather than application) so that I didn't have to spend time with support to work it out (which took a week or so). Support was extremely helpful and technically knowledgeable.  I wish all the instructions they gave me in my emails were given upfront in dedicated manuals and guidelines to facilitate the process and also make it easier to understand the steps to go through before purchase. A video guide is of course the most ideal. Nevertheless, an excellent 5 star software. Good job.

I am very pleased with DNNBackup. Installation was easy and backupping was not difficult either. I often had problems when upgrading DNN. I did not have a proper backup system and therefore always had to ask my hosting provider to restore my database which always cost me money. Now I cloned my Website to my local Laptop PC tried to upgrade DNN 5.6.3 to 6.0.0, which did not work (as expected). So restored the site with DNNBackup/Restore, which worked perfectly.

Great product... I spent a couple of weeks trying to do a manual restore from a production server to a test Server. I bought this and I was up and running in less a day.

It's a truly great product and a solution for us.
With DNNBackup we saved a lot of money for a custom job, but with this excellent software it does everything for us.
The DNNBackup is a MUST for everyone using a DNN.

This product will exceed your expectations!  If you want peace of mind, flexibility to clone your site locally or move to another hosting service then you will find no better product.  I have tried the competition and Evotiva DNNBackup is superior.

This product has proven to me it will do as it says.
I used it to backup my development site, then, used those backups to create our new production site on another server.
Following their directions it work flawlessly and it saved me a lot of messing around time to do it.
Support responded very quickly when I emailed them.
An excellent product, especially at the price!

Until recently I hadn't really needed to use DNNBackup, but it had always seemed to work quite nicely. Last week we moved our site from one hosting provider to another. The previous hosting provider required a helpdesk ticket opened to request a SQL backup and the timeliness of their responses left something to be desired (one of the reasons we switched hosts). I used DNNBackup to create full backups of our site, tested restoring them on my local machine as well as on the staging site of our new hosting provider. I was able to do this many times until I was certain everything was going well. We were able to move our site in under an hour and have an exact copy of the site from the previous hosting provider at the moment in time that we created the backup.

This is a fantastic product, not only as an insurance policy against something bad happening, but also for moving sites around and making it easy to create local copies of a production site for testing new modules, skins, settings,

Great product - Very easy to setup, and incredibly fast!  

Tech support to correct an error in setup (I set separate site and db backups to run too close together) was prompt and thorough - these folks take customer service seriously and they resolved my issue quickly and cheerfully - couldn't ask for more!

Just finished moving our site to Godaddy from a different Hosting account. The site is up and running like a champion. Absolutely Amazingly Awesome!!! I give this product 5 Stars Plus Plus Plus. We had over 80 pages in our site and we were not even in Beta yet. This App Saved Me from having to rebuild our entire site. I can not say enough about it. Absolutely the best for backup, restoration and moving your site to different host. With Basic knowledge I am by no means a pro. Wow is all I can say and Thank you a million times over. :) completely blown away great product! The only down side is you only get 3 month of free upgrades. Any upgrades after that you pay for. 12 months is usually standard on most modules sold. All and All very happy Very impressed. We have survived numerous crashes thanks to this product.

This is a great module. I have successfully moved dozens of DNN installs using this module. I have run into a couple of glitches on a couple moves (not due to the module) and the support from Evotiva has always been awesome.  I highly recommend this module if you need to move your DNN installs to a new host.

I dont normally write reviews but I have to say this product is outstanding. It does exactly what they say and worked first time. I needed to copy my live site to a VMware test server and it did it perfectly. I am now using it to make a backup of my DNN install to an FTP site which again just works. I really do recommend this product to everyone. Oh and the support is really good to.

This has got to be THE BEST product I have EVER purchased since I have gotten TOP NOTCH service and a GREAT product that WORKS! It was VERY easy to setup... almost set itself up! I was backing up my DNN deployment in MINUTES! I had a couple weird issues occur during restoration to a new ISP, so I submitted an email to the Dev! I mean in MINUTES he was on the case, helping me, guiding me, giving good advice! I am no slouch at this, I have been doing webdev for almost 10 years, and I was impressed by the support I was receiving and the information being offered. And even when it turned out to be issues with years of screwing around w/ my database, bad extensions, bad modules, etc, the Dev STILL helped me get things set straight! You can not ask for anything more. But then he went a step further and released a NEW BUILD based on an issue "I" was having! Talk about making you feel like a valued customer! I bill $100-$150 per hour for my services, so getting all this support AND a

So far this product hasn't been the easiest to set up, but Evotiva worked with me in depth and helped me find issues on my system which were causing problems.  They basically held my hand and patiently helped me.  I couldn't be more appreciative.  

I'm now able to make a local backup, a backup to my low-end FTP acccount at Godaddy, and a backup to a high-end ftp at Amazon S3.. all at the same time. It's great, and it's  reassuring.

Thank you for working with me Evotiva!  I'm a noon, as green as can be, and you never lost patience or gave up on me.  THANK YOU!

Great product. I was able to recover DNN with multiple portals and restore to a new host. Support during this process was excellent and with it now configured to backup direct to Amazon S3, I have a little less to worry about.

All the positive reviews are well deserved.  It took only minutes to install and set this up.  I used to fret that our site was not backed up.  I signed up for an Amazon S3 account and setup DNNBackup to use it.  No more worries.  Great tool, very responsive support.  
Update: Just tested the "clone" process - works great! Took less than an hour to clone our DNN site to a test domain so I can test DNN module upgrades. Fantastic!

This module saved me a lot of trouble twice already since I bought it less than a week ago. The user interface is great looking and self-explanatory. A good user manual is included, but you'll probably don't even need it.
Backing up works perfectly, as does scheduling backup tasks. Restoring my live site to a local setup was also easily done. I haven't tried a restore of my live site, but I am confident this will work fine. A great module for a great price!

There were some problems at first (both my fault & due to a software bug) but there was a swift response from the developer, a new version was sent to me, and now it is all working great. I transferred a hosted site with several portals to my local PC with no hassle.

This is truly a life saver! Whenever I upgrade or make any major changes to the DNN site, I use this backup module and it acts like Insurance: if you experience a loss [of DNN functionality after an upgrade or a major change], you can claim [restore from the backup] easily. I recommend this to all DNN hosts. If there is a way to backup and restore individual portals (child or parent portals), that would be even fantastic!

This module is a MUST-HAVE! The functionality is no doubt one of the things that professional users of dotnetnuke miss most: backup/restore functionality from within & transportation between environments. Instead of having to go through the pain of manually taking backups of your database and files, and logging on to the server / FTP to do all that, having all of this done by a module is a great idea. Not only a time-saver, but also a life-saver as you'll need a backup lying around when you least expect it... And if you don't have control over restoring but have to rely on your hosting company to do it, this is a way to take control.

Regarding the options of the module: they are really extensive. For example, you can set which folders to exclude on the file backup, or which tables on the database backup, you can customize buffers for the zip and set the amount of compression, etc. You might want to fiddle with some these options depending on your environment's available resource

My hosting is very restrictive and initially the module was unable to run, I was offered either a full refund or the new version in a few weeks time, it was worth the wait and the latest  module runs beautifully and Evotiva are extremely professional and highly recommended.

We encountered a problem and requested support. The reply came quickly and it turned out we had problems that were new to the developer. He went above and beyond, looking at our files, making suggestions and finally solving the problem. Because we were the first to have this type of problem he has included solutions to it in his next release. It's an excellent product with superb support. We highly recommend it.

Fantastic support & help, great product which makes backup real easy.
To rebuild (in case of a servercrash) or move a siteo another ISP isn't to my opinion straightforward in DNN but this script will make it lot easier. No SQL-queries needed, just some initial settings and then press the 'backup-button'. Scheduled backup and automatic FTP to external-bakupsite is possible.
This is really well spent money, especially if You have invested lots of time building Your site.

This module is an outstanding value.  After install/setup, it provides a one-click backup of your DNN database as well as directories.  It is ideal for both ensuring that you have an off-site backup, as well as for refreshing test/development servers with a copy of updated production data.  There are a lot of options for backing up the database as well as compressing the database/files into .zip files, and it includes Zip64 for compressing databases > 2GB.  

I have used this modules for a couple of years now, and anytime I have encountered an issue, Evotiva has been very responsive with support / fixes.

This is an awesome product.  I have no experience with Programming, and I was able to figure it out with minimal reading on how Primary Keys, and Stored Procedures work and are related.  I highly recommend this product, and it is well worth the money if you buy the version to use on GoDaddy, and other external domains.

This module works better than the backup on my server.  This is a lifesaver for commercial sites.  I have also used it to clone sites on shared servers where I didn't have access to the database directory where the backups where stored.  The user interface is hard on the eyes, and needs to be dressed up a little.  The documentation for this module is a little vague, and may not be suitable for beginning users.  The functionality of the module is perfect.  It installs with no errors and there were no conflicts with any of 30+ premium modules I have installed on one of my sites.   If the user intereface was better designed graphically, and the documentation was better written and organized, this would be a 5 star module.

I've been using this module for a few months now and it is working well. A simple, workable solution for backing up your DNN sites. To verify the backup database and contents, I have restored them on my local machine and the site comes up just as it should!

Tried some other backup software, but they didn't quite work on godaddy eventhough they promised to work.
Anyway, this one works great and saved me alot of time recently.
It's just that you can't write a good review for a backup application, until you are forced to do a full restore and nobody wants to do that, well atleast I wouldn't want to do a restore on a working server.

Simply superb module. Do not rely on your hosting provider for backups. When you do upgrades, backup your website using this module and it comes with fine SP and table validation tools as well.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do, and that is work! Godaddy is TOO restrictive on everything, but with this tool you can get it up there, running, and get it done NOW! It took my site about 1/2 hour, with all the adjustments I had to make, but the software is quick, and the instructions are clear. Worth the money, get it if you are on godaddy and you plan to move your site from a non-godaddy machine to them (for the first time or not). Remeber you cannot RESTORE a DB that is backuped on a NON-GODADDY server, but with this, no problem...

I was using DNN on Godaddy, and as many of you know, Godaddy and DNN sometimes have some conflicts. If it had not been for BackupScript, I would have lost 3 different DNN websites. The support I received while I was trying to recover my website was the absolute best. If it had not been for BackupScript, I would of lost hundreds of hours of work, and a lot of money.

I own three licenses, and it was the best decision I have made in a long time.

BackupScript is a must have solution with Godaddy. Godaddy  
is cheap for DotNetNuke Hosting and they provide huge webspace and bandwith, but they dont provide auto backup/restore function. Once i contacted them they requested 150 usd for a restore. And that fee was one time fee. Instead of changing Godaddy, i decided to go with a Backup solution. And contacted with Evotiva. First i would like to thank support team for providing test license before purchase. I also, worked with DNNCassini Project (i dunno it still exist). After seeing module working perfectly i decided to buy it. I'm using it since last year and Godaddy was painless with Evotiva. I also would like mention about  
response time. Once i send my request to Support team, they contacted with me in same day (sometimes the response was even in a hour which is you may not see with other developers)

I believe you will have more comfortable DotNetNuke portals with Evotiva.

Horacio and Evotiva Support were absolutely amazing. Not once did I feel my endless questions were too much trouble.  Each time Horacio responded swiftly and professionally. Horacio worked through all my issues diligently and went to get lengths (and way beyond my expectations) to get my quite complex requests solved. There might be other backup and restore solutions out there but I do not think they could match the level of support of this team. Evotiva support,  You have done your job brilliantly. Thank you.

This script is the only one I found that works with GoDaddy. It is easy to use and I am very pleased with it. I was very impressed with their E-mail technical support, they always responded promptly and went out of their way to provide good service.

This works great with godaddy.  First I created a folder in godaddy's host area using the Directory Management tool.  I called the folder DN and gave it read, web, brouse, write, root permissions.  Then selected Value Applications and loaded DNN 4.5.3 to the DN folder.   Thus this was a DNN AUTO load.  I loaded the Backupscript 2.0.4 per the instructions and did a database & portal backup.  Changed a page on my website then did a restore.  It worked perfectly.  The only thing you must do is go to HOST->Settings->Advanced Settings->Other Settings, and clear the cache to see the Restored changes.  It works perfectly with the godaddy Auto installed DNN website.  Support from Evotiva was excellent and highly recommend this to other godaddy customers.

A much needed and excellent module with fast and knowledgeable support. I purchased BackupScript initially to down-grade a DNN install from SQL 2005 to 2000 and it worked perfectly. I’ve now made it a default install for all DNN sites I work on. The piece of mind and flexibility of the script far surpasses the purchase price.

After first chrash on my server I know the time a need to make it new. BackupScript for DNN is for me an "must have". The scripts works perfect. The support is really
great. Every question is answered. Thanks.

Horacio responded to my problem (I had a DNN 4.0.2 install, and the module only worked properly with 4.0.3) within minutes.

Not only did he respond faster than I respond to most personal friends, he recompiled the code so it would work with my older version of DNN and sent it to me the same day.
