CATALooK.netStore Pro & Booking Tools
Bernard Villers J (3) says... 2 2.0

user icon Not Azure compliant. Evolves much more slowly than other carts. Powerful but steep learning curve and messy, unorganized UI. Not architected to standards and as a result is often broken on DNN upgrades. This module seems to have outgrown its developers and is in serious need of a refresh. Support tickets often go unanswered and when answered, promised resolution is often times many months after set expectations. For example, Azure support has been coming for over a year now. Consider Revindex or HotCakes as they may have a lower overall cost of ownership despite their higher price tag.

user icon I have sent this by email to this clients before a week but did not get a reply. So here again: Not Azure compliant. - CATALooK.netStore (Pro) works well with Azure. We have many clients using the module with Azure. There is also an Azure test store at: http://dnnsoft.azurewebsites.net. I did not get any support request from you since February when I have sent you the first Azure compliant version. If there are any errors, please send the full error messages by email or helpdesk and we will check it instantly. Evolves much more slowly than other carts. - In the past 12 month we have added more than 100 new features and options e.g. CRM functionality, Bootstrap 3 support, Fuzzy search etc. Powerful but steep learning curve and messy, unorganized UI - We use the dnn UI standard for most modules. In every new version we add more options that can be used to customize the admin and user UI. By default all functionality is displayed. But the display of all options e.g. in the product admin module can be customized via module options. There is a permission option for each product option / section in the module options of each form from this module that can be used to simplify the user interface. Also there is a wizard available that can be turned on via module options. Not architected to standards and as a result is often broken on DNN upgrades. - The first time in the past 12 years that there was an issue after a dnn update was when there was a code break in the dnn API caused by the changes on how country and region information get stored in dnn 7.3.3 and 7.3.4. This was not only an issue with the DB but also using the API functions to request property values returned different values. In CATALooK we use country and region data in more than 10 classes / tables. To provide best compatibility with dnn standard we have converted all to use the new format (entryid from dnn lists table). Support tickets often go unanswered and when answered, promised resolution is often times many months after set expectations. - There was a long delay with the Azure version because of the dnn API changes. Also CATALooK.netStore consists of more than 30 modules. It was a lot of work required to make them all Azure compatible. Beside this I can only find this unanswered request: 'Is there any way to use a link in the itempane ascx rather than an image button control for add to cart and add to wishlist?' I had forwarded this to our developers and they have added this functionality already. There is a sample skin included where you can see it: cat_grey-css_bs3.

user icon How the DNN devs sat down with an object oriented language to make a web based CMS and overlooked the fact that we users will want to create HTML content and easily deploy references to it is a complete mystery to me. All I can say is IT'S ABOUT TIME! Thanks for filling this major void.

user icon Beautiful Skin. The modules do NOT work on DNN installations with object qualifiers. There are also many other bugs in the module. Support team was rude and would not respond. After a week of waiting if fixed over 20 bugs myself and provided the zip file of the repaired module to them. I didn't even get a response to that. This company does not care about quality or customer support. BEWARE.
