What is it?

The S4A CookieLaw is an easy to use DotNetNuke Multilanguage module that you can use on your website to make your website compliant with the new EU Cookie regulations.

Step by step

1. Install the S4A CookieLaw extension/module

1a Go to Host > Extensions > Manage > install extension wizard
1b upload the package

2. Add the S4A CookieLaw extension/module to a page.

     

3. Complete the settings

3a Manage > Settings > S4A_CookieLaw Settings

Theming
Style: Here you can edit the used style.
Button & Link Text
Change 'Accept Cookies' button text: here you can Change the Accept Cookies button text
Change 'Decline Cookies' button text: here you can Change 'Decline Cookies' button text
Change 'Reset Cookies' button text: here you can Change 'Reset Cookies' button text
Change 'What are Cookies' link: here you can Change 'What are Cookies' link
Change 'Disctreet' link: here you can Change 'Disctreet' link
Messages
Analytics message: here you can edit the analytics message the default message is preloaded
'Cookie Privacy link' (used when Analytics tick box is off): here you can edit the Cookie Privacy link message the default message is preloaded
'Error' message (used when Enable div etc. hide feature is on): here you can edit the error message the default message is preloaded
'Privacy Policy Page' message: here you can edit the Privacy Policy Page message the default message is preloaded
Links
Your Privacy policy / Cookie policy link: place here the link to your privacy / cookie policy page
'What are cookies' link: place here your what are cookie link.
Cookie Bar / Discreet Link Positioning
Display the notification at the bottom of the page: place it at the bottom? default is top.
'Discreet' position: This positions Discreet Link and Discreet Reset
Show these buttons
Accept: remove check to remove this button
Decline: remove check to remove this button
Reset: remove check to remove this button
Cookie bar style
Display the 'Discreet link': Selecting this option will automatically switch off the other messages on the website and replace wqith your discreet link text and link, this option should be used in conjunction with adding the shortcode [cookiecutterprivacy] to your policy page as detailed above.
Make the reset button discreet?: to make the reset button discreet use this option
Don't want a discreet toolbar? Give me a big overlay!: to crate a big overlay use this option
Toggle messages
Switch on for 'Analytics' message and off for 'Cookie Privacy Link' message
Google Analytics
Enter your Google Analytics ID: You need to disable any other modules that are currently running your Google Analytics and remove any Google Analytics code you have in your templates for this option to work. Please enter ID as 11111111-1
If you use the DNN analytics module the cookie will be placed and your site does not comply with the EU regulations.
Technical implementation
Unlock demo code: To obtain a code please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the domainname you want to run this module on. If available please include your invoice numer
Include jQuery via DNN: To use the allready included jQuery from the DNN installation check this otherwise the jQuery from http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.js will be loaded
jQuery conflict?: If you are experiencing a jQuery conflict you can use this option, does not solve all jQuery problems

4. Done the banner is created!

     

5.Tips

Via Manage > Settings > Module Settings > Advanced settings set this module "Display Module on all pages"
Via Manage > Settings > Page Settings > Basic settings set this module "Display Container" to Off
